Te Ara is a story of two powerful women who have both faced adversity. At the documentary’s heart is the heroic resilience of a young Maori woman, who is determined to reconnect with her inner-strength starting in her own backyard.
In a small town perched in the mountains of Abruzzo, a unique competition has been held for centuries. Every year, in Pacentro, locals throw themselves from a cliff onto scree slopes where they run down to the stream, before running back up. An ancestral rite, the origins of which are unknown, participants of the Corsa are tied to the indissoluble relationship between nature and man.
